Stolen cows found 32 km from home

JANUARY 4, 2016

Seven cows stolen outside Komga in the Eastern Cape were found wandering 32 km away from where they were stolen, police said on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said the cows, valued at R70 000, were stolen from a farm just outside Komga on the way to King Williams Towns.

They were found abandoned near Blue Waters close to Mootplaas in East London on Thursday, December 31, he said.

He did not know when exactly they were stolen.

“We suspect stock thieves would have and collected them later. Butterworth Cluster Commander Brigadier Stanley Sibhidla commended Komga Police for the job well done,” Manatha said.

No arrests have been made yet.
