Stormers the most supported Currie Cup team
ABSA Currie Cup title holders, the DHL Western Province Stormers, had the most support during this Currie Cup season, with a total of 79 029 fans attending theirfive home round-robin matches at Newlands.
According to Netwerk24, during the Stormers 31-23 semi-final win against the Vodacom Blue Bulls as well as their final 19-16 win against the Xerox Golden Lions last weekend, 74 362 fans attended each game.
The Currie Cup champions celebrated their victory by parading the Currie Cup trophy through the streets of Cape Town and Gugulethu on Tuesday, to honour the people of Cape Town who had supported them.
