SEPTEMBER 18, 2015

It has been a busy and successful week for the SAPS' K9Unit in Mthatha, which managed to make several arrests as well as recovering several vehicles.

On Tuesday, the K9Unit recovered a VW Polo, which had earlier been reported stolen from the Mthatha motor vehicle testing station.

That same day, the same police unit recovered a bread delivery truck that had been hijacked at Sibangweni, in Mthatha.

It was not immediately clear how many suspects were arrested in those two busts.

On Wednesday, the K9Unit also arrested suspect for dealing in drugs. Around 100 Mandrax tablets were seized from the suspect as well as money presumed to be proceeds from drug dealing.

Yesterday, Thursday, the same unit arrested two suspects for the possession of stolen vehicles. Three vehicles, reported stolen, were found on the suspects’ property. They are due to appear in the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
