Sushi adventure!: Blue Waters Café seals the deal!
Saying it is one of the best eateries in Port Elizabeth for business executives may sound like a bold endorsement but I think Blue Waters Café, deserves it. Perfectly situated at Shark Rock Pier along Marine Drive in Summerstrand, this café-styled restaurant is just perfect for making good impressions with your business contacts.
On a recent business lunch with a client, we found choosing a single meal from their comprehensive menu quite challenging. Blue Waters Café is renowned for generous servings of fresh and delicious breakfasts, light meals, salads, pastas, seafood, steaks, desserts, cocktails and a wide selection of wines – all locally and internationally inspired.
Favourite nibbles include crispy focaccia and an indulgence would be kingklip thermidor. At a time of economy austerity, the thrifty can also still enjoy great ‘combo’ dishes at this establishment.
Eventually, we decided to try Blue Waters Café’s aptly-named Sushi Adventure. Our platter choice entailed five different servings; four pieces of Rose Berries, perfectly-rolled Salmon Roses topped with a deep-fried cream cheese-ball drizzled in wild berry sauce; four pieces of Monster Rolls, a supersized prawn California roll topped with salmon, avo and the chef’s speciality secret sauce; four pieces of Bean Curd - which is bean curd pockets filled with your choice of either salmon, tuna, prawn or vegies; Philadelphia Stars which is four pieces of California rolls shaped like stars filled with cream cheese and salmon then finished-off with a magical, tantalizing secret sauce, peppers and rocket.
While waited for our order to arrive, I had an opportunity to take in the restaurant’s distinctive, relaxed ambience. Blue Waters Café has a wonderful daytime vibe which also makes it ideal for family outings. With the best views of Algoa Bay and the Indian Ocean beyond, even at night, I found it ideal for corporate dinners and romantic outings as well.
The service by all their staff was prompt, friendly but not intrusive.
When our orders arrived, I could tell Chef Driaan had invested extra attention in preparing and presenting our meals. To my delight, everything tasted just as seriously divine as it looked! For our generous portions, the bill was also very reasonable. I can highly recommend the Blue Waters Café Sushi Adventure to any executive wanting to impress.
Needless to say, Blue Waters Café now has one more return customer. This is also because their location is easily accessible from any direction in PE. There is plenty of parking and they are open from 7:30am till 10pm seven days a week. To find out more, call 041 583 4110 or visit www.bluewaterscafe.com.
