Suspect in Kabega Park murder hands himself to police

Port Elizabeth police made breakthroughs over the weekend and arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of an elderly woman in Kabega Park, Port Elizabeth, on the 20th of August. This after one of the suspects apparently surrendered himself to police.

According to Port Elizabeth police, the suspects, who are both from Kwazakhele and are aged 20 and 28, were involved in the murder of 78-year-old Marlene Webber. She was found strangled to death in her granny flat in Lytham Street in the suburb.

Detective were reportedly following up on information last Friday, when a suspect from Kwazakhele came and handed himself over to police. He was arrested and charged with murder.

The detectives followed up more information and the second suspect was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police also recovered some of the property stolen from Webber's home.
