Swift justice: Warrant Officer Albie Julius' killer to be sentenced on Tuesday

A 32 year-old Grahamstown man, Anthony Swarts, is expected to be sentenced on Tuesday after he was convicted of the robbery and murder of Warrant Officer Albie Julius in Grahamstown at the beginning of August.

The late Julius, 48, who was laid to rest in Grahamstown at an official funeral at the Grahamstown Cathedral about two weeks ago, was stationed at Grahamstown SAPS.

He was off-duty when his body was discovered on the 6th of August with multiple stab wounds in the upper body in the bushes near Sun City, Grahamstown.

His cellphone was missing at the time his body was discovered.

Swarts was swiftly arrested within a day of the discovery of the murder by Grahamstown Detectives, Visible Police and K9 members.
