Swimmers excel in SA Grand Prix Invitational Gala

Three swimmers participated in the SA Grand Prix Invitational Gala leg held in Port Elizabeth this past weekend. 

This is a meet where the top swimmers in South Africa participate in a series pre-Olympic trials fixtures.

Toni Rafferty 14 (DSG), John Maree 17 (St Andrew’s College) and Courtney Repinz 12 (DSG) all swam very well.

Toni made three finals for the 50 free(placed 5th) with a Senior National qualification time of 27.49,100 free(placed 7th) with a new Eastern Province 14 year old record with a time of 59.91 and 50 fly(placed 7th) she was the youngest competitor in all her finals with the eldest being experienced 23 year olds.

John Maree swam another senior qualification time in the 100 back with a time of 1.00.65 putting him 4th in the final but he had to pull out due to polo commitments.

Courtney Repinz 12 years old swam well and gained valuable experience before the upcoming level 3 gala.
