T20 Cricket: Warriors take on VKB Knights at St Georges Park
The Warriors play their second home match on Wednesday at St George’s Park, in Port Elizabeth, when they go head to head against the VKB Knights at 6pm.
In a thrilling encounter against the Lions on Friday night the Warriors put up a great performance in front of their home crowd beating the Lions by six wickets to cement their 2nd position on the T20 Challenge Log.
The match on Wednesday promises to be a fun night out for the family. The Win a Million competition will be in play at this game and local fans will have a chance of winning their share of R1m. No one has yet staked their claim at St George’s Park so we are hoping this will be the match. The competition is open to all South Africans and to qualify a fan must catch a clean one handed six. (T&C’s apply).
The Warriors App has seen over 700 downloads since it was launched last week and for fans who download the app there are loads of opportunities to win prizes.
Besides getting a free match ticket fans can look out for the opportunity to win up to R6000 when one lucky fan who has downloaded the App and checked in to St George’s on Wednesday will get the chance to catch 3 balls hit by the Warriors 12th man. For every ball that is caught the fan will win R2000.00.
In addition to this, the Warriors will donate R1000.00 for every catch taken to The Herald’s Christmas Cheer Fund.
At the match on Friday Rihaldo Swanepoel was the lucky fan who took all 3 catches pocketing R6000 just in time for Christmas. Two replica shirts will also be given away via our mobile App competition.
Castle Corner will once again be a hive of activity when we have “WICKET WEDNESDAY”. Fans will pay only R15 per Castle Lager or Flying Fish for 3 overs in the first innings and 3 overs in the second innings. The promotion will only run in Castle Corner.
Apparel sponsor, Fain will be on hand to sell the Warriors replica shirts at the ground.
