The President Hotel undergoes upgrade
The President Hotel, one of Cape Town’s most beautiful urban resorts, is excited to announce its upcoming renovations, with the aim of making the hotel bigger and better, especially for their tourism and business-minded guests.
“Few hotels have so expertly combined the often-contrasting requirements of business and tourism,” comments Jeremy Clayton, general manager. “Our conference and event facilities lend themselves to an almost inexhaustible range of adaptations to suit varying requisites, and the in-house events team is on hand to smooth organisation and preparation.”
The hotel has just launched their newly refurbished, state-of-the-art conference centre, making it the go-to location for your conferencing needs. Their superior facilities include a refurbishment of imported, ergonomic wooden furniture from Germany, top of the range sound and lighting in all the venues.
Unlimited 200Mbs Wi-Fi is available as well as cutting edge AV technology, exciting food and beverage menus, and a professional onsite team to ensure hassle and stress free conferences and events.
The conference room will now consist of fully automated sound, AV, AC and lighting controls. With three ceiling mounted NEC HD quality projectors and three motorised screens, as well as 12 high quality Extron speakers installed in the ceiling allowing for voice-lift and high quality sound for presentations and music, the conference facilities and hotel have become a technology leader, being number one choice amongst business professionals.
With the superior conferencing facilities consisting of dedicated fibre line, the hotel is the perfect location for online content driven product launches or high-end media events with specially designed packages providing an uninhibited internet experience.
In addition to their conference centre, the President Hotel has adopted the latest in intelligent Wi-Fi technology, offering the fastest hotel speeds in the country. The President’s 200Mbs fibre link means that guests can enjoy the fastest Wi-Fi in the comfort of the hotel, with no restrictions.
With an implementation of the industry’s best practices, networks offer a safe and secure environment for a speedy internet experience. This upgrade will also offer guests the ability to easily stream 1080p High Definition content from services such as YouTube, the iTunes Store, ShowMax and many other online movie services on their own device.
There will also be a newly implemented modern LED technology and lighting throughout the hotel, new branded amenity ranges as well as room décor refurbishments including new scatter cushions, throws, décor items and prints on the wall.
The pool area will be receiving a makeover with the addition of new sun loungers, side tables and a new Deck Bar poolside. While catching some rays, guests will be able to order their drinks from the comfort of the new and trendy pool bar and deck, set to be completed by December 2016.
The Deck bar will stock various wines, beers, cocktails and artisanal gin selection, for all guests to enjoy. The staff will also be receiving a makeover with new uniforms, inspired by Nelson Mandela and all the rich cultures of Africa.
Not forgetting about the kids, a new children’s area at the hotel will be launching mid-December. With dedicated activities for the children each day as well as educational toys, they are sure to be thoroughly entertained, so much so that parents may struggle to tear them away by the end of the day.
The hotel is also home to an array of wonderful restaurants, bars, lounges and gardens. With the new season approaching, the hotel has just launched their new summer menu, creating even more reasons to visit. Starting off with the new menu, guests can treat themselves to prosciutto, citrus, buffalo mozzarella, avocado and basil on a ciabatta or perhaps west coast mussels cooked in a creamy black bean and coconut sauce.
For mains, guests can choose between a variety of vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes – salt and pepper squid with skinny fries, chargrilled lime and tartare sauce, wild mushroom risotto with parmesan shavings or a 300g smoked pork kassler, buttered pomme purée, roasted apples and mustard sauce.
To end if all off, why not indulge in something a little sweeter such as their Tonka bean panna cotta with honeycomb and berries. If you’re looking for something a little lighter or simpler, why not order the charcuterie platter, perfect with pairing the new wine selection or make your own sandwich at their gourmet sandwich bar. This and much, much more is available on the new, mouth-watering summer menu.
The President invites you to make the most of summer and indulge in your favourite dishes complimented with a glass or two from the new wine list! The President Hotel has partnered with 14 different wine farms to provide guests with the best wine selections in the country, ensuring that everyone receives the Presidential wine and dine experience. Some of the wine farms include Buitenverwachting, Leopard’s Leap, De Grendel, Rickety Bridge, Blaauwklippen and more.
All of this, situated in a hotel consisting of beautiful, modern and superior hospitality all year round.
Clayton concludes, “We move, we adjust, we upgrade, we are constantly improving and each visit must be memorable and unique!”
