Third suspect arrested in connection with Kabega Park murder

Police in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday morning said that they had arrested a third suspect in connection with the robbery and murder of an elderly Kabega Park woman about two weeks ago. The news comes when two suspects, arrested on Friday and Saturday, were expected in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court for a bail application.

According to police, the 24-year-old suspect was arrested in New Brighton on Sunday and police also recovered additional goods that had been stolen from Webber's home.

The other two suspects, Fikile Mengo, 20, and Mkhuseli Ngqanda, 28, appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Monday for strangling Marlene Webber, 78, to death with a towel during the robbery.

They were arrested on Friday and Saturday after one of the suspects handed himself over to the police on Friday.
