Three expected in court after Walmer robbery

Joint efforts by Walmer SAPS, K9 Unit, Port Elizabeth Air Wing and Flying Squad on Sunday led to the swift arrest of three robbery suspects near the Port Elizabeth International Airport.

According to Port Elizabeth police, the arrest follows an incident in which two men were robbed at knifepoint by five men, of a Plasma TV they had just bought in Walmer township. 

After receiving a report on the incident, the K9 Unit, with the assistance from the Port Elizabeth Air Wing, managed to quickly track down three of the suspects, who were found hiding in bushes next to the Port Elizabeth airport. 

They are now expected in court soon while police track down their accomplices.

Elsewhere, police in Adelaide arrested a suspect (25) for allegedly fatally stabbing a man (30) early on Sunday moring in the town's Njoloza Street.

The suspect is expected in court soon on murder charges.

With assistance from Grahamstown Extension 6 residents, police also arrested a 19 year-old suspect for alleged rape of a woman on Friday night. He is also expected in court soon.
