Three expected in court over double farm murder

Three suspects are due to appear in the Indwe periodical court on Wednesday after they were arrested on Sunday by police in connection with a double farm murder.

According to Eastern Cape police, the suspects, aged between 22 and 24, were arrested with firearms stolen during the murders on the farm in the Ida district.

The victims were Ruben Gouws, who was in his fifties, and his elderly mother, Hermien, believed to be 89 years old.

The three are believed to have stabbed and strangled their victims in the attack.

One of the suspects was apprehended by members of the Ida community while the other two were arrested in Cala.
