Three suspects arrested with stolen R20 000 trailer

FEBRUARY 25, 2015

Eastern Cape police arrested three suspects aged between 21 and 26 years early Tuesday morning at about 03:45 for possession of stolen property.

"Police were busy with their routine patrols at Hargreaves Avenue, King Williams Town when they spotted three males pushing a trailer. They stopped them and asked about the trailer and they told police that they were asked by the owner to push it," the police said in a statement.

"On investigation, police found out that the owner is from Tshatshu Location. They proceeded to his house to confirm what these three males said. On arrival, the owner said they stole his trailer to the value of R20 000 because it was parked infront of his house and he did not give anyone permission to take it."

The suspects were immediately arrested by the police and the owner was given his trailer.

The suspects are due to appear at King Williams Town Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
