Three teens busted in King Williams town after armed robbery

Three teenagers are expected to appear in the Zwelitsha Magistrate Court, outside King Williams Town soon facing attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm charges.

According to Eastern Cape police, the local K9 Unit members responded to an armed robbery at Zinyoka Location outside KWT at about 16h00.

"On arrival they found a 24-year-old man in his shop. He was shot once in his lower body. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment in a stable condition. Nothing was taken from the shop as the suspects struggled to enter because of security gates," the police said.

"Thorough investigation led Police to arrest three males aged 18 years."

Police recovered a Lorcin firearm and a magazine with no ammunition from the house at Tyutyu Village.
