Traffic Advisory: Controlled blasting on the N2 between Majola Tea turnoff and Tombo

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers that blasting is scheduled to take place between the Majola Tea turn off and Tombo on Wednesday, 5 April 2017 and on Thursday, 6 April 2017.

The blast will take place at 3pm on both days and the road will be closed.

On Wednesday the blast will take place approximately 60,8 km from Mthatha CBD or 20,2 km from Port St Johns, between 2:55pm to 3:45pm.

On Thursday, the blast will take place at approximately 57,3 km from Mthatha CBD or 23,7 km from Port St Johns, between 2:55pm and 3:45pm.

“Residents living within a radius of 500m from the site are requested to vacate all houses near the blast area by 2:45pm,” says Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region Manager.

Stop and go sections are planned for this section of the road and motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly.
