TRANQUILLITY HAVEN: Bunkers Inn is for the discerning business and leisure traveller

I travel to East London for business quite often. On a recent trip, I decided to try out Bunkers Inn which is situated on Bunkers Hill. I believe that East London has almost 450 accommodation establishments, so competition is quite fierce. Located opposite the picturesque East London Golf Course, Bunkers Inn is within immediate access of the city centre, its sports clubs and beaches.

I arrived late in the afternoon and was warmly welcomed by Lucille, the Manager. She also gave me a brief history and tour of the property. Besides, Bunkers Inn’s ten guestrooms - all with free WiFi internet access, the establishment includes a lounge and dining room which opens onto a large inviting pool outside.

Five of the guestrooms are housed in a newer section on the property which features two self-catering units on the ground level and three double rooms upstairs. It was amazing to see how the once stately home, has now been transformed into a welcoming B&B, along with very beautiful gardens.

I was lucky enough to have been allocated one of the upstairs guestrooms with a good view of the golf course. I found it spacious, well-furnished and wanting for nothing in amenities.

After an early dinner of take-away fish and chips from the local chippie, I prepared for the following day’s business appointments and relaxed before falling asleep to the calming sounds of nature from the garden below.

Having a busy day ahead, I awoke bright and early to the sound of the odd Ibis and the tread of runners who were on their morning routines. From the balcony, I enjoyed my coffee as the sunrise broke through the trees of the golf course onto its crisp green lawns.

My breakfast starter consisted of cereal, yoghurt and juice and was followed by Bunkers Inn’s full English and coffee. I was all set for my business day! Lucillle and her staff made my stay at Bunkers Inn very comfortable and I will be staying there again soon.

Bunkers Inn is very centrally situated for business people and its friendly atmosphere lends its self to family stays over weekends or school holidays. If you are planning a trip to East London soon, I can recommend you give them a call on 043 735 4642 or email [email protected] or visit today.
