Two changes to EP Kings for Vodacom Cup match

BY NATALI IVERSON - MARCH 20, 2015

Eastern Province Kings coach, Mzwandile Stick, has said that utility back, Scott van Breda will be the team’s secret weapon on the bench, when they take on the GWK Griquas in their Vodacom Cup match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

Stick made two other changes to his team for the match.

Flyhalf Gary van Aswegen will be coming in for Tony Jantjies, who has a hamstring injury, with Siyanda Grey taking the wing position in place of Luther Obi, who injured his ribs during last weekend’s friendly against the Golden Lions.

Sylvian Mahuza, who impressed during the match against the Lions, will be replacing van Brenda at fullback.

“I think Scotty is one of best weapons on the bench because if you need some impact in kicks, he has a solid boot if the game gets tight,” Stick said.

“I gave Sylvian an opportunity last week and I could see he needed more time to settle in. As a coach, it is best to look after the interest of the players and give them more time to settle in. He is a new player and has an X-factor.

“With Scotty, you know what he can offer you, so he is one of my best weapons on the bench coming in.

“Another advantage with Scott is that he can cover wing, fullback and outside centre,” he added.
