Two people, a 36 year-old and 57 year-old, are expected to appear before the Humansdorp Magistrate Court on Wednesday after they were arrested for public violence in Sea Vista, in the St Francis Bay area.

The violence, which according to Eastern Cape police was sparked by the death of a 19-year-old boy, who was stabbed  in Humansdorp on Sunday, resulted in the looting of eight foreign-owned shops.

Public Order Police units had to be brought in from neighbouring stations to help bring the situation under control.
