Two life terms for two Mdantsane rapists

OCTOBER 30, 2015

Two Mdantsane men were each sentenced to two life imprisonment in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

According to Eastern Cape police, Odwa Nama (21) and Mkhululi Ndlela (28) were found guilty of robbery with aggravating circumstances and raping a 20 year-old Mdantsane woman in February 2015.

"It is alleged that, they robbed the victims a 46 year old and a 20 year old woman in their Mercedes Benz. They took them to a forest, where they raped the young woman.

"A case was opened at Mdantsane Police Station. The investigation led to both accused being arrested shortly after the incident took place," the police said.

Mdantsane Cluster Commander Brigadier Stanley Bennett applauded the investigating officer for a sterling job.

"Constable Lusanda Nkatazo is one of the hard working members in my station. I am not surprised by his achievement, as he has recently won the national detective of the year award,” he said.
