MAY 26, 2016

Two suspects are expected in court in Port Elizabeth after they were swiftly arrested by the PE Flying Squad following a hijacking in Algoa Park.

"On Tuesday, members of the Port Elizabth Flying Squad responded to a complaint of a hijacking in progress in Algoa Park area where three suspects hijacked a Nissan NP200 bakkie," police said.

"Within a few minutes, members located the vehicle and gave chase through various streets where a shootout occurred. Members managed to stop the vehicle and the suspects fled in different directions."

However, one suspect managed to escape, but the officers arrested his two alleged accomplices.

The suspects are being held at the Algoa Park SAPS for hijacking.
