Two Port Elizabeth men put away for life for robbery and rape

SEPTEMBER 30, 2015

The Port Elizabeth High Court on Wednesday reportedly handed down two life sentences plus a further 25 years each for two men convicted of a senseless house robbery and rape in the City.

Thabo Vena (32) and Monwabisi Siganqu (30) were found guilty of breaking into a house in Zwide, a township in Port Elizabeth, in August 2013.

In addition to robbing the home's occupants, the duo also raped a young woman while forcing the boyfriend to watch at knife point.

Police also commended the Motherwell Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, who worked hard to ensure that the suspects were convicted for their crime.
