Two well-known PE gangsters gunned down separately within 12 hours

Port Elizabeth police are appealing for the community's help in identifying a suspect or suspects involved in the shooting of two well-known gangsters in separate incidents in Port Elizabeth, within 12 hours.

"On Monday, at about 21:15, a 24 year-old Shauderville man was allegedly gunned down at his Glendinning Street flat in Shauderville," said police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

"Xandre Jansen answered to a knock on his door and as he opened the door, shots were fired by an unknown person. A 29 year-old woman was also wounded in her leg. Jansen  succumbed to his injuries in hospital."

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

According to Colonel Naidu; "In the second incident, on Tuesday, at about 08:50, a 47 year-old, well-known gang member died in a hail of bullets in Barberry street Ext 31 Bethelsdorp.

"It is alleged that Donovan Berry had alighted from a vehicle and was walking when shots were fired at him. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and face. Police are investigating a case of murder."

No suspects are arrested in these cases.
