UFH fall well short in Pietermaritzburg

University of Fort Hare slumped way beyond expectations as they lost 61-10 to University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in their Varsity Shield match at Peter Booysen Park, Pietermaritzburg on Monday night.

After having a bye last week, it was expected that UFH would come out somewhat motivated and fresh as visitors to Pietermaritzburg. However, no surprises were shown as it has proved in the past to show that the Kwa-Zulu Natal based side has had a notch up against the team from Alice.

Last year when the two teams met, UFH lost 42-0 to UKZN.

UFH are still yet to win a game after losing their first two matches in this year’s Varsity Shield. They now play a home fixture against Wits at Davidson Rugby Stadium, Alice, on the 18th February in their next scheduled fixture.
