Uitenhage police appeal for community's help in unsolved murder case

Uitenhage detectives are appealing to the community to assist them with information that will lead to the arrest of suspects involved in an unsolved murder case, which is happened in 2015.

"It is alleged that on Sunday, 28 June 2015, at about 00:30, Sandile Thobi (44 years old) was severely assaulted and burned," said police spokesperson, Lieutenant Gerda Swart.

"The incident took place on a farm next to the Hillwagcht Road, Vanes Estate in Uitenhage.  On Friday, 24 July 2015, Thobi succumbed to his injuries. 

"It is alleged that Thobi was looking after goats when his perpetrators attacked him and set him alight."

He was found by a community member and admitted to a hospital in Port Elizabeth for treatment. 

"The suspects have not yet been arrested and the community is urged to assist with information that can lead to the successful arrest of the perpetrators."
