Uitenhage police investigating armed business robbery in KwaNobuhle


Police in Uitenhage have launched an investigation after three armed suspects robbed a shop in Sandunana Street, KwaNobuhle, on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, one suspect with a firearm forced his way into the shop and allegedly demanded cash.

“It is alleged that, the other two suspects also went inside and joined him then ran off with cash, cigarettes, airtime vouchers and a cell phone,” said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

No person was injured during the incident.

After the suspects had fled, the shop owner managed to contact KwaNobuhle police and a case of armed robbery was opened.

Police have since appealed to local residents, who might have knowledge of the suspects to come forward and assist in their investigation.
