Veeplaas residents hit out at Masualle and Jordaan, accuses ANC of failing them

BY CHARL BOSCH - AUGUST 17, 2015

Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle and Nelson Mandela Bay Executive Mayor Danny Jordaan were reportedly berated by local residents during by-election campaign over the weekend.

According to The Sowetan, disgruntled residents from Veeplaas (Ward 30) expressed their dissatisfaction over escalating levels of unemployment, shoddy RDP houses and slow levels of service delivery, accusing the ruling African National Congress (ANC) of having failed them.

The ward is expected to be a hive of activity again later today when Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Mmusi Maimane, visits the area as part of his party’s campaign before the 2016 municipal elections.
