Water supplies should be restored to parts of Uitenhage today

OCTOBER 29, 2015

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality expects water supplies to residents and businesses in certain parts of the Rosedale, Mountain View and Kabah, in Uitenhage, to resume on Thursday.

This is after water disruptions for most of Wednesday as a portion of the main supplying Rosedale reservoir had to be relayed on Wednesday to accommodate phase 2 of Rosedale Extension.

According to the municipality, standby water tankers were also deployed to the areas to assist residents.

"Further alterations to the system are also being implemented in an attempt to reduce the affected area.

"The work is expected to be completed today (28 October 2015), but the supply can only be restored tomorrow in order to allow time for certain concrete work to set," the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality said.

"The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to apologise for the inconvenience that has been made."
