Whittlesea man slapped with life imprisonment for brutally raping 50 year-old woman

The Whittlesea Regional Court early this week found Maboyana Ndumiso guilty at after he was charged for the rape of a 50 year-old woman, who was sleeping alone in her house at Poplar Groove, Whittlesea in December 2014.

According to Eastern Cape police, Ndumiso, 44, is believed to have sneaked into the victim's house before brutally assaulting and raping her. 

At his first court appearance, following his arrest, he was granted bail and appeared at the court again this week when he was found guilty at Regioanl Court and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Cluster Commander, Whittlesea Colonel Lindelwa Vellem commended  the investigating Officer,  Detective Warrant Officer Zilungele Mafojela for his commitment and dedication to securing Ndumiso's convition.

Mafojela was recently transferred from  Ezibeleni Social Crime Prevention to FCS Unit earlier in 2015.
