WhoseLine PE goes big to celebrate 1st birthday

FEBRUARY 1, 2016

Popular Improv Comedy group, WhoseLinePE are celebrating a year of entertaining Port Elizabeth audiences and they're doing it with a month of celebrations. The show has been running every Tuesday night at The Music Kitchen in Newton Park since their launch on the 3rd of February last year.

During the month of February the show will include give-aways for the audiences with prizes valued at over R10 000. These include free drinks from selected sponsors, online shopping vouchers, and hampers with collectibles. The big prizes include a year's worth of Coca-Cola for one lucky winner and a two night stay at the ultra-modern, luxurious Hopewell House on the Hopewell Eco Estate valued at R5000.

Actor and comedian Roland Gaspar, who founded the group says "According to our research we are South Africa's best weekly Improv Comedy Group, because we are South Africa's only weekly Improv Comedy group." Gaspar uses the tongue in cheek accolade to express how proud the team are of having sustained a weekly interactive, audience driven show in Port Elizabeth, when Improv Comedy groups around the country have generally been able to sustain audiences for monthly performances at best.

Gaspar went on to say that the show has received excellent support from local audiences, businesses and tourists alike. WhoseLine at The Music Kitchen has hosted groups celebrating farewells, birthdays and bachelorette parties. They have also hosted corporate groups at The Music Kitchen and travelled to entertain business groups at venues out of town.

The show is based on improv style games as seen in the hit TV show "Whose Line is it anyway?" Actors use the audience's suggestions to create each scene, with hilarious and often chaotic results. The show starts at 7:30pm when audience suggestions are written down and collected. Tickets remain R40 per person even during the celebration month but with these kinds of prizes up for grabs booking in advance is advised on 041-364-1964.
