Justice was finally served when the Willowvale Regional Magistrate's Court on Wednesday convicted and sentenced 24-year-old, Thokozani Siwendu, to another two life sentences plus twenty years behind bars for raping a 64-year-old woman about three years ago.

According to the police, Siwendu raped the woman on the 7th of August 2013 during the day at Mboya Village near Willowvale.

“The accused pleaded guilty to the rape charge on Wednesday. He is already serving two life sentences and 47 years’ imprisonment for another rape charge,” said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

He added that the conviction was a result of the Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offences Unit (FCS) investigating the case properly.

Acting Butterworth Cluster Commander, Colonel Sipho Hokwana, also praised the Butterworth FCS Unit for handling crimes against women and children in a professional manner.
