NOVEMBER 1, 2016

Kwantu Private Game Reserve - a South African five star game reserve located between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown in South Africa’s malaria-free adventure province of the Eastern Cape - was crowned winner in the Best Luxury Wildlife Resort category at the World Luxury Hotel Awards last week.

The announcement was made at a gala ceremony at the 10th annual World Luxury Hotel Awards hosted at the St. Regis Doha Hotel in Qatar.

Commenting on the award, Kwantu Private Game Reserve CEO Shakir Jeeva said “the reserve is continually evolving its offering in terms of five-star luxury and constantly upping the ante for discerning travellers, while remaining true to its original vision of being a friendly family destination, a home away from home and a leader in African wildlife conservation.”

This year, Kwantu was also listed as finalists in two other major travel and hospitality awards including the SANLAM Top Destination Awards 2016 and The Haute Grandeur Global Hotel Awards.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards is a recognized global organization providing luxury hotels with recognition for their world class facilities and service excellence provided to guests. Awards are presented to luxury hotels through public voting to reflect real recognition of exceptional hospitality luxury standards and hard work and dedication of hotel staff.

Kwantu Private Game Reserve is located in one of the most biologically varied regions in South Africa, with many of the biomes still unspoilt. Kwantu is home to the big five of African wildlife game and nearly 250 bird species in a privately owned reserve set in a mix of grasslands, fynbos, valley bushveld and sub-tropical vegetation.

Kwantu offers five star luxury lodges and boasts its own boutique hotel in an exclusive village atmosphere with an infinitude of indoor and outdoor facilities and amenities for ultimate rest, relaxation and immersion. The reserve also offers a conference facility and wedding venue that can accommodate 500 guests in banquet style and 1 000 guests in a cinema-style configuration.
