Zip lining at Pine Lodge Resort and Conference Centre is a definite must do!

BY NATALI IVERSON - JUNE 17, 2016

I love a good adrenalin rush - galloping on a horse or the thrill of a paintball game, but I find that heights can be a little too much for my stomach. However, I decided to try and face this fear by going on a zip line tour, and being a little nervous, I asked my boyfriend to join me on this adventure.

We checked online and came across Pine Lodge Resort and Conference Centre, which actually has a wide variety of activities on their property.

Pine Lodge is situated along Marine Drive, just a few minutes away from the city centre, making it very convenient for PE residents wanting to enjoy some great family activities.

When we arrived at Pine Lodge, my nerves started to kick in, but I was put at ease by Pine Lodge’s Senior Facilitator, Manezi, and his partner, Ollie.

At the safety briefing Manezi explained that Pine Lodge is very safety conscious and they made it very easy to understand, explaining what to do and what not to do while you are on the zip line, and when climbing up the towers.

The first zip line is 80m, and being a bit uneasy, I asked my boyfriend to go first so I could see how it was done.

All geared up, he stepped off the ledge, gliding to the next tower. It looked easy enough…

We were really high up and I was nervous, so it took me a few seconds to step off, and when I did, I loved every second! It was an intense and exciting rush, and what was great was they never pressured me to go, they said when you are ready, step off.

We did the next two zip lines, which are 60m and then 40m. The whole experience was so much fun, and we felt very safe with all the safety gear and instructions from our guides.

They also have a High Ropes Experience on offer after the zip lining, which is optional.

I must add that the service we received was outstanding. Our instructors were friendly, informative and very helpful!

We were really impressed with Pine Lodge, and all the activities they offer, which includes the Fatbike Beach Tours, Donkey Cart Tours and guided walks. We will definitely be returning to try these.
