Zulu embracing Chippa chance

New Chippa United striker, David Zulu, feels great for having the opportunity to be back on the field after leaving the Kaizer Chiefs to come to the Eastern Cape side on a six-month loan.

Zulu is seeking to recapture some form, which saw him being called up to the Bafana Bafana squad approximately two years ago. He was the National First Division top scorer with 16 goals in 2013/2014.

He is relishing a chance to get more game time, of which to extend his form from where he had left off before he got injured.

“Playing here regularly will boost my confidence and it just showed me that I was taking care of myself when I was injured for three months,” said Zulu to Sport24.

"I started to train again in December and I didn't feel any pressure on the injury in these first few games I have played,” he added.

He started his first game for the Eastern Cape side when they beat Golden Arrows two weeks ago. He then scored the first goal as they beat Ajax Cape Town last weekend.

“It felt great to be back on the field and people will remember me again and see that I'm still around," he said.

Chippa are currently sixth place on the PSL standings on 22 log points after winning seven games out of their 15. They play Black Aces at the Mbombela Stadium, Saturday 30th of January.
