And it’s (finally) points for Pretoria

Henry

Will Jacks’ excellent century was ultimately the difference between the Pretoria Capitals and the Durban’s Super Giants at SuperSportpark.

The Englishman scored 101 runs from just 42 balls and his innings laid the foundation for the Capitals’ batting effort.

The home team’s score of 204/9 was eventually enough and they restricted the Super Giants to 187/7 to win the clash by 17 runs.

It was the Capitals’ first win in the latest version of the SA20 tournament.

Needless to say, Jacks was named player of the match after impressing with his spin bowling as well. He took the wickets of Kyle Mayers and the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen, while the Durban team could only score 18 runs from his three overs.

  • Summary of the scorecard:

Pretoria Capitals 204/9 in 20 overs: Will Jacks 101, Colin Ingram 43 and Reece Topley 3/34.

DurbanÍ░’s Super Giants 187/7 in 20 overs: Matthew Breetzke 33, JJ Smuts 27 and Will Jacks 2/18.
