Another suspect was arrested this week in connection with the murder of Rustenburg businessman Ben Gumbi.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested in Johannesburg on Thursday evening.
Col. Adèle Myburgh, police spokesperson, says the suspect is expected to appear in the magistrate’s court in Rustenburg on Monday on charges of murder.
Gumbi was shot dead by two men outside Plato Coffee in Kock Street on 23 August. Gumbi had just arrived at the coffee shop when the suspects struck.
The suspects fled the scene, but their car was later found abandoned at the corner of Helen Joseph and Lourie Streets.
Sibongiseni Ngubane (33) was arrested in September for his alleged role in the murder of Gumbi.
RNews earlier reported that Ngubane was arrested on 12 September after he appeared in court in Germiston where he faces a separate charge of armed robbery and he was released on bail of R3 000. He also has a pending case against him for possession of a firearm and ammunition in Alberton. He was granted bail of R1 000 in this case.
