Missing 77-year-old Port Elizabeth man found unharmed

A 77-year-old Port Elizabeth man, who was reported missing on Friday 11 August was found wandering the streets of New Brighton, after news reports were broadcasted on radio and social media around Nelson Mandela Bay area on Monday.

"According to information received, alert members of the community in New Brighton spotted and recognised him and then took him to New Brighton police station," said police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

The Motherwell Cluster Commander, Major General Dawie Rabie expressed his grattitude to those community members and added his appreciation on behalf of the SAPS Management towards all the media agencies who took part in the broadcasting of the missing person report.
