Police appeal for leads after New Brighton man shot dead in his driveway

Police in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, have appealed for leads after a 49-year-old man was shot and killed on Sunday night just as he parked his car at his home.

"On 20 August 2017, at about 23:35, the 49-year-old, Zola Ncocho, of Limba Road, New Brighton, arrived home and was busy opening the gate in his driveway, when he was shot and killed by unknown attackers," described police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"After neighbors heard shots being fired, they found him lying in his driveway."

Captain Beetge said that his vehicle, a grey Chevrolet Cruze, was stolen by the attackers.

"A case of murder and carjacking was opened at New Brighton police station," he added.

"A few hours later, at 08:15 on Monday morning, the vehicle was found abandoned in Kuzwayo Street, Kwazakele, just a few kilometres away from the murder scene."
