Another cold front is expected to move over the Eastern Cape on Wednesday night and once again introduce cold windy weather over the region with rainfall restricted to the coastal areas only on Thursday and Friday, the Port Elizabeth office of the South African Weather Service said on Tuesday.

"The rest of this week will remain fairly cold with the warmest day on Wednesday when maximum temperatures are expected to be round 18°C," added Garth Sampson, Client Liaison Officer for the Eastern Cape at the South African Weather Service.

On Tuesday, very Strong West to North Westerly winds were expected across the Eastern Cape with Gale Force SW’ly winds along the south coast between Plettenberg Bay and East London spreading to Port St Johns in the afternoon.

Sampson also said that some light snow falls were expected later on Tuesday evening and overnight over the Sneeuberg, Winterberg and higher peaks of the Escarpment.
