Go George Bus investigating accident involving one of its buses

The GO GEORGE bus service on Wednesday confirmed that it is investigating an accident involving one of its buses.

The accident occurred on Sunday in Nieuwoudt Street, Rosemoor.

"GO GEORGE received reports that two pedestrians had been hit by a bus after they ended up in the road in front of the bus as it approached," described Chantel Edwards-Klose, George Municipality Manager: Communications.

"The bus driver swerved out and landed in a field opposite, injuring two additional pedestrians in the process.

"The GO GEORGE bus was in a roadworthy condition at the time of the incident and was travelling at a speed of 34 km/h in the seconds leading up to the incident."

She said that the speed limit in Nieuwoudt Street is 60 km/h.

"GO GEORGE is investigating the incident in collaboration with the SAPS."
