Early morning police raids yield results in Ngqeleni

In a joint suspects raiding operation by Ngqeleni Vispol and Detectives, three suspects, aged between 24 and 33 years old, were arrested for various cases ranging from Crimen Injuria to murder at various localities in Ngqeleni in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena, a 33-year-old man was arrested for a case of Crimen Injuria that was opened in May 2018.

"A 24-year-old man was arrested for a case of Assault GBH that was opened in August 2017," he added. 

"Lastly, a 25-year-old man was arrested for murder that was opened in May 2018 where the body of a 25-year-old man was found."

She said that the body was found with bullet wounds to his upper body at Qhankqu Locality Mfenetyisa A/A Ngqeleni on the 12th of May, at about 01:00.

"The suspects were initially not known, but as a result of Ngqeleni police investigations by the detectives, the identities of the suspects were established," Capt Koena said.

"Such investigations led to the arrest of the suspect this morning at about 04:30. More arrests are expected."

All the suspects will appear in the Ngqeleni Court on Wednesday. 

"This is a clear message to criminals that there is no space for them in our society," said the Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Nomawethu Makonza.
