Mthatha female officers commended after recovering vehicle stolen in Uitenhage

Two men, aged  20 and 37 years old, are expected in court after they were arrested at Makhaphetshwini, along the N2, where the SAPS, Provincial Traffic, King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality, King Sabata Dalindyebo Law Enforcement and Nyandeni Municipal Traffic held Vehicle Check Point.

"The suspects tried to avoid being stopped at the roadblock and took an alternative route, but were followed by women in the operation," described police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena.

"The driver was found without a drivers license and the vehicle it was found to have been stolen in Uitenhage Cas 451/06/2017."

She said that the two will appear before Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Friday facing charges of possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle and and driving without drivers license.

"I praise the ladies who made chase of this vehicle. Today is Women's Day and you must lead as the imbokodos," said Acting Cluster Commander, Brigadier Nomawethu Makonza.
