Uitenhage police need help locating missing teen

Investigating officers from the Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit in the Uitenhage Cluster have appealed to the public to assist them in locating a missing teenager, Thimna Benelwa. 

"Benelwa, who is  only 14-years-old, was officially reported missing on Friday, 27 July 2018," said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart. 

"She was last seen on Saturday, 21 July 2018, and was dressed in a white jersey, green trousers and grey tekkies. She allegedly told her grandfather that she was going to school."

Capt Swart said that Benelwa is about 1,54m tall and weighs about 90kg. 

"Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Mbulelo Grootboom on 072 732 5132 or SAPS Crime Stop 08600 10111."
