Tales of the Sisterhood

Tales of the Sisterhood is an upcoming women’s empowerment and lifestyle event.

"The main goal of the event is to empower women to live their best lives and be inspired by the young, successful women who will be guest speakers at the event," describes Njabulo Madlala.

The event will be held on 25 August 2018 from 11:00 – 15:00 at ArtEC in Bird Street. Tickets for the event are priced at R175.

"The female guest speakers might be from different career paths, but they have all built their own career paths. This is the reason why they are the ideal guest speakers because the women in attendance will be able to relate to their stories. The speakers are local DJ Sam Jennings, hair entrepreneur Awethu Sonamzi of Weza’s Hair and Andiswa Kota of Okuhle Beauty," adds Madlala.

"The event is called the ‘Tales of the Sisterhood’ because creating unity among women is one of the goals of the event. There is also the belief that every woman has a story to tell and women can learn from each other’s stories.

"The event will have a conference setup. There will be stalls from a variety of female entrepreneurs in the Bay. The point of this is to support female entrepreneurs in the Nelson Mandela Bay."

The event is also aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs. That is why we are inviting female entrepreneurs to have stalls at the event.

"We will also be collecting sanitary pads at the event. These will then be donated to a school in the Missionvale area. One of the key goals of Buzz about Town Communications is to give back to the community especially in regard to women empowerment. We have urged guests to bring a sanitary pad if they can."
