Tina Falls woman arrested with dagga and for trying to bribe officers

A 47-year-old woman from Tina Falls is expected in court on Wednesday for possession of dagga and for allegedly attempting to bribe policemen.

"We must bring to book those behind corrupting our men and women in blue whilst performing their duties. This is professionalism and I commend you for that," said the Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Nomawethu Makonza.

The woman was arrested at Manzana locality, in Tina Falls, on Monday at about 21h00.

“Members were conducting patrols in that area when they spotted the suspect with two bags of dagga weighing 18kg with street value of R18 000,” described police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena.

“In her efforts of trying to escape the arrest, she tried to bribe these members with R400.

“She will appear before Qumbu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday facing charges of possession and dealing in dagga and bribery.”
