Man killed, another injured after gunmen break into Uitenhage home and open fire

Detectives from the South African Police Service in KwaNobuhle, Uitenhage, are looking for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s involved in the murder and attempted murder of two man.

"It is alleged that the suspects broke the back door of a house in Sinxo Street, KwaNobuhle, at about 22:30 on Monday night, entered and fired several shots at two males," described police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

"A 46-year-old male was fatally wounded during the shooting and a 52-year-old man was admitted with multiple gunshot wounds at a hospital."

Motive for the murder/attempted murder is not known

She said that the motive for the murder/attempted murder is not known at this stage and the name of the deceased will be released after his next-of-kin has been notified. 

"A case of murder and attempted murder is currently being investigated by the SAPS KwaNobuhle detectives."

"Callers may remain anonymous and all information will be treated confidentially," Capt Swart said.
