SACP withdraws allegations against ANC Provincial Treasurer

"The meeting expressed its regret about the developments around the matter, as they do not help in building alliance nor cementing comradely relations amongst comrades," Mdodi said.

"After comradely discussions, the district agreed to unreservedly withdraw parts of the statement which carried allegations against Madikizela and apologise to him for the harm this may have caused, and commit to engage in an organisational approach in confronting the difficulties between alliance components and individual leaders."

Mdodi said that Madikizela expressed his commitment to an organisational approach and undertook to stop all legal processes against the SACP as bases for safeguarding a new beginning for dealing with any challenge in the course of the struggle.

Madikizela had sued the party for R500 000 in a defamation case.
