Update on the killing of the ANC's Thanduxolo Peter Nobongoza

In an update, the African National Congress (ANC) in the Chris Hani Region on Thursday said that police have so far arrested four suspects for the fatal shooting of the Chief Whip of the Sakhisizwe Local Municipality, Thanduxolo Peter Nobongoza.

The 42-year-old was shot dead on whilst strolling in Cala at the beginning of the month.

Early this month, the Hawks had announced the arrest of two suspects for the murder.

"The Regional Executive Committee (REC) wishes to confirm that the South African Police Service (SAPS) has arrested at least four accused persons regarding the brutal and cruel murder of Cde Tibhla," said ANC Chris Hani Regional Spokesperson, Lusanda Sizani.

"The accused persons have made a court appearance today.

"The case has been postponed to the 20th of December 2018, for the hearing of a formal bail application."

Sizani said that the ANC is confident that the State posseses the necessary capacity to bring the culprits to the full might of law.

"We urge everyone to be patient and allow the state institutions to exercise and discharge thier obligations without any interruption."
