Police warn public about false 2019 Trainee Intake advert

The South African Police Service (SAPS) on Tuesday said that it has come to its attention that there is an advert that is circulating in the media for the 2019 Trainee Intake.

"The SAPS has not circulated such an advertisement," said Brigadier Glenda Siwela, Head of Recruitment at the SAPS.

"The posts for the 2019 intake were advertised in May 2018, the closing date of which was 15 June 2018 and the selection process is currently underway."

She, however, said that only the Western Cape Province will be circulating an advert shortly.

Only SAPS Western Cape will flight a 2019 Trainee Intake advert

"But, it will only target the local community and not advertise nationally (it is a re-advertisement, as a lot of applicants fell out through the selection process and the province is experiencing shortages in terms of a pool of applications)," Brig Siwela said.

"All other provinces are proceeding with applications received during the circulation in 2018."

She said that members of the community must be cautioned to be careful of bogus advertisements that are circulating.
