St Francis Bay business owners robbed in their home by armed masked men

Police are warning business owners to install burglar security gates in their homes following a robbery at the home of a St Francis businessman by six masked, armed men on Monday morning.

According to police information, it is alleged that six men wearing balaclavas, three of them armed with firearms, forced open a lounge door of a house in Taragona Street, Sea Vista, in St Francis Bay.

Three occupants of the house, who were asleep were awoken by the sound of the door being opened.

“[That was when] the gun-wielding suspects threatened to shoot the couple (business owners) and their child, and started making demands for shop takings, cell phones and laptops," described police spokesperson, Sgt Majola Nkohli.

“The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cell phones.”
