68-year-old Willowvale woman vanishes while hitch-hiking home

Willowvale police are investigating a case of a missing person and have appealed to the public for assistance.

"It is alleged 68-year-old Nomthalaliso Magevane was last seen attending clinic at Majingqi Clinic on 15 January 2019," said police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"She was attended to by the nurses.

"She then left the clinic hitch-hiking on a gravel road back home."

Capt Manatha said that she never arrived at her home, which is at Nquba Locality, Mahasana Village, Willowvale. 

"Her family became worried when she didn't come back home. She was then reported as a missing person at Willowvale Police Station."

Willowvale police organise a search to no avail

He said that Willowvale police organized K9 (dog unit) and mounted unit - including the members of the community, to look for her. 

"She has not yet been found. Willowvale police with the assistance of the community are continuing to search for the missing old lady," Capt Manatha.

"She was wearing brown dress, green jacket, black takkies and flowered cloth on her head.

"Any one who can identify the missing person is kindly requested to contact nearest police station or Crime Stop 08600 10111."
